The Intersection of Art and Spirituality I.D.E.A.S. and United Adoration

The Imago Dei Evangelical Arts Society is connected to a wonderful missions organization known as United Adoration. United Adoration's mission is to partner with local churches around the world to gather and inspire people to welcome God into their creative process and create in their own language, culture, and context.

Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United Adoration has grown to include 6 national chapters, by hosting 650 retreats and events, in partnership with 117 churches in 116 cities, and in 23 countries SO FAR! These retreats and events set the stage by infusing the area with visual art and starting the session with worship music. This creates an atmosphere ideally suited to fostering the creative process.

I've heard it said that if you create space for the Holy Spirit, He will fill it. Over and over in these retreat and event spaces, I've seen this hold true. Not only has beautiful music, visual art, poetry, and story been birthed, but I've seen deep conversations, cleansing tears, songs of joy, griefs finally expressed, hearts healed, and sweet long term friendships begun.
